What buffered means

Feed your plants, not your coir.

Fine coco coir, compressed into one easy brick. Buffering is a simple extra step: the coir is soaked so excess salts wash away and the pH settles into balance, giving your plants a cleaner start. Add water, fluff, and mix it into pots, beds, or containers.

What buffered coco coir means

1 brick becomes

72 Quarts

That is 18 gallons of coco coir from one 11 lb brick.

How to use it

Hands lowering a compressed coco coir brick into a wheelbarrow
1

Place the brick in a large container

Give it room to grow. A big tub or wheelbarrow works well, because the brick expands as it soaks.

2

Add water a little at a time

A rough guide is about 5 parts water to 1 part coir. Pour gradually and let the brick drink before adding more.

3

Fluff until loose and airy

Break apart any clumps. You want a light, even texture with no dry spots.

4

Blend about 1 part coir with 2 parts soil in garden beds, or use 20 to 30 percent coir in potting mixes.
